Recipesssssssssssssssssssss..........

So I haven't posted a recipe in a while.  Between trip to Europe and knee surgery I haven't done much in the cooking department.  I just came across this and thought I'd share this as something to checkout.  It's crockpot time in the North and those in the warmer states a crockpot meal can always make life easier.  I am going to try a few of these recipes and I will update those recipes I try as to whether they are good or bad.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is a week from Thursday.  I, however, can't find chestnuts. It's part of the tradition for my stuffing.  If anyone comes across some in NC (in the triangle) let me know. Thanks.  No matter how many people we have for dinner the menu is a tradition in our house:

Turkey
Gravy
Sausage / chestnut stuffing
cranberry relish (grandfather's recipe)
cranberry sauce (canned)
sauteed mushrooms
honey glazed carrots
crescent rolls
green bean casserole
fresh candied sweet potatoes
mashed potatoes
pumpkin pie
pecan pie
key lime pie (doesn't really fit in the theme but Keith likes to make for Austin)

Needless to say we have a LOT of leftovers.

Wednesday recipe

What a crazy week....I came across this and with a touch of fall around I thought this would be a great recipe. See below.
Keith got into fall as well by bringing home this goose gourd.  Said "Molly needed a friend" but just freaked her out.A 25 lb cat in her cage no problem but a gourd that looks like a goose freaks her out
I still want to post my treasures from Not So Forgotten Farm but the days seems to slip by before I can.
I am proud to say I've made some great dents in my sewing "stuff".  Sorted and emptied a huge bin of scraps.  I'm off to pick up two quilts today from the Quilting Cowgirl.  I will post later.  Don't forget season premiere of scandal tonight.  I may have to sneak up to sewing room to watch quietly.  Same writer has new show premiering right after.
Love fall!!!
HAPPY JEWISH New Year to my Jewish Family and Friends.

Wednesday Recipe you won't want to miss!

Copy Cat Version Of Starbucks Pumpkin Scones  (click her to open recipe)

This is an almost exact copy of the Starbucks Pumpkin Scones.  And if you didn't already know they were recalled nationwide.  So NO Pumpkin Scones at any of the Starbucks and if they have them they shouldn't.   I made this recipe last year and it was really good.  So enjoy!

Little Marissa's costume was ordered she's going to be Elsa from Frozen along with probably 4 bazillion other little girls but she'll be the most precious. ***wink wink****
Of course it's the costume, the crown, the wand and the shoes.  The whole kit and kaboodle.  Her mama was freakin' out but I texted her "let it be" (the song from Frozen).  This is probably one of Keith's favorite holidays.  Here's his costume from last year.  They are always very unique.

So the cheezy decorations were me........last minute.  I tried to make Mike from Monster Inc.  I think it looks more like a bear. You decide what it looks like to you.  Then I cut out a bunch of spiders from paper.

We are 1/2 way through the week.  Have a great hump day!

Out like a LION - Can't wait for Fall!!!!!!!!

I don't know about anyone else but I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready for Fall.  I remember during our grusome winter waiting for the thaw and all wasn't horrible until this week. The humidity and heat is overbearing.  I told my husband I don't know how he works in this. Kudos to him -there's no way I could do it.  I saw a couple running around 10 a.m. this morning with a double stroller.  Either they were from Florida or the Equator.

So let's THINK fall. Starbucks has started their lattes; pumpkin scones and pumpkin muffins.  Keith's (my husband) favorite place, the pumpkin patch on Ten -Ten Road in Fuquay /Raleigh off 401 is full of pumpkins and all the stores are boasting with Halloween Decor and Fall/Autumn Decor.  So maybe if we think really really really hard it will blow in quickly.

To start my recipe a week on Wednesdays, here's a Pumpkin Recipe you may enjoy. I've set up labels on the side of the Blog -you can locate it again there if you want to print or locate it later.
