The zoo:
Cat's fine- Dogs went in for teeth cleaning and $1000k later (nothing to do with the cleaning).......
Piper's liver levels were out of whack so she had to have an ultrasound. They said she may have the start of liver cancer but even if she does there's no mass or anything so nothing they can do - she was put on a medicine to lower her liver levels that were elevated and special food. She doesn't act sick and other than her level issues you'd never know. They delayed her teeth cleaning for the following week. So then Piper and Crystal went in together to get their teeth cleaned and poor Crystal had to have three teeth pulled. Even in doggie world A.G.E. is a #$@#$@! They are both doing great now.
Marilyn arrived on the 13th of April. She was here until the 23rd. It was the fastest 10 days. She arrived on Tues he 13th- Wed we went to Sharon's to work on a beehive mat, Thursday was stitching group and Friday we left for Greensboro to take a class with Kim Diehl on how to machine applique.

Math fabric - couldn't resist for Austin my son whose a math major. Not sure what I'm going to do with it but sooooooooooooo cool!!!
Sydney (my niece and I took a class with Kim Diehl last July in Hershey, Pa. I'm picking her quilt up Monday from the quilter - Syd finished hers. She did a great!!!! JOB-- for those that are not on Facebook here's a picture.
All that's left is the binding - Syd wants to do it together so it will have
to wait until over the summer.
Oh and while at Kim's class - she remembered me and Syd (not sure if that's a good thing) and was so excited to here Syd had finished her quilt. So she made a label for the back of Syd's quilt for her.
Marilyn also got her quilt back from Cathy - this was a pattern "Wooly Cirtters" that I purchased and haven't started but Marilyn did and it came out soooooooooo cute.
Cathy quilted and as usual did a great job.

Back to Greensboro weekend.
So we arrived Friday late afternoon Set up for class - did a little shopping went to dinner and then checked in to hotel. We decided to stay about 20 minutes away at the Holiday Inn in Burlington. The location was great. We went to Ihop for dinner.
So we sit down to order - the IHop must of been fairly new. Clean and the servers were extremely attentive. Well they had a special menu -
The deal of the century-is from 4p - 10p you can get an omelette and a stack of pancakes 2 for $10.
So the waitress came over to take our order and I said I'd like the 2 for $10 - gave her my omelette order and pancakes. She said well unless "she" pointing to Marilyn, orders the same thing you have to order off the regular menu. Turns out it is 2 people for $10. 2 omelettes and 2 stacks of pancakes. We had dinner with coffee and drinks for $13.12. We were laughing so hard. I felt bad for the waitress because she was busting her butt and if I tipped 15% or even 20% that's only $2 so we gave her a $5. She well deserved it.
Saturday was the class and Saturday night we met Rachel and Justin for dinner. Justin's birthday was the Monday the 20th. We went to a place called "Table 16" I was a bit nervous at first because the menu showed things like "Elk sausage" and "rabbit" but they did have a fish and rice dish that was amazing. Marilyn and I went back to hotel and just chilled for the night.
Monday Marilyn had the dentist in the morning We had Maj Jongg in the afternoon - whooosh another day gone. Tuesday we were going to have a do nothing day but ended up at a place in Raleigh that sells furniture. I spent the morning doing catch up with calls and paperwork - did a couple of things for Austin and again day gone. We did stay up until 1 am stitching on a log cabin quilt Marilyn wanted to make. It's a pattern by Eleanor Burns from Quilt in a Day that my friend Sharon Stewart taught. I made a King size quilt for me and Keith

She wanted to try out my Juki sewing machine. Took her about 2 second and now is on her list of things to get. It is an amazing machine. Runs fast and solid.
The next day we got up and I went down before Marilyn. We are both using fit bits. (important note for next story) Well Marilyn came down and said "something's not working" - I asked why?
She said I just got up - put on my fit bit and it says I've already walked 3 thousand steps.
Plus it added like 2000 calories. I pondered for a moment and then realized she had the fit bit on while sewing. The movement of her running her arms through the machine gave her fit bit a false calculation that she ran a marathon. LOL. So note- if you wear a fit bit on your arm - remove before doing anything as such or similar. (it was rather humorous)
Wed we went to lunch with a couple of friends and then came home - Marilyn packed up - I made dinner and 10 days gone!
Like they say "time flies when you're having fun".
Next week I'm off to Virginia for a cross stitching retreat with the Primitive Society. I'm staying at Randi and Jan's. Leaving Wednesday to have lunch and catch up with a friend that I met through Randi and her craft club (Mary Jane) then going to get my haircut (my hairdresser had surgery) then dinner and then Maj Jongg. Thursday Craft club wtih Randi and Friday the class at the retreat. Then Saturday is a huge Antique yard sale in Williamsburg at the Pottery Outlet and the weather is supposed to remain GORGEOUS! My friends Pat and Jim will be going to Williamsburg, too. That could mean trouble at the Yard Sale. Just sayin' At least we have two vehicles for our finds. :)
I did pick up a couple of treasures this week. A table made from Lane to refinish that is amazing A cheese box lined that could be a sewing box or for remotes. I'm going to refinish and see how I want to use it. And an old tool box.
The Prim Society is having a gift exchange - Here's Randi's.........
she did a great job. I told her it would be funny if it's random and we get our own gifts back.
I'm hoping to get mine done today.

I want to take a moment to officially apologize to all family members regarding the latest of birthday acknowledgements. They should all be up to date now. I left Husband in charge of his family (just saying) and needless to say - "I" finally sent them.
Also, we had a new edition to our family this week. My niece Samantha had a baby boy "Bowden Elem". Her and her husband Lee decided to name him after the coach from FSU.

3-2-1 cake
Take one box of angel food cake mix
one box of "any" flavor cake mix and mix in container or baggie.
to bake -
take "3" tablespoons of mixed cake mixes
"2" tablespoons of water
(mix well in coffee mug)
microwave for one minute.
great with fruit or cool whip

Keith and I went and saw a documentary "4 blood moons"
I'm not usually someone who enjoys documentaries but this was extremely interesting. If you get the opportunity to see it do so.
Last night we watched "The Kid" with Bruce Willis. It's an older Disney movie and was really good.
