Great Way to display your Cross STitches

Learn to finish with the Twisted Stitcher: The Flatfold...: NOTE: I find the flatfold is the perfect finishing technique for those stitching projects that you don't necessarily want to frame, yet ...

Fiesta finale

Last night was our last night so we went out for dinner. We found a place Mailyn had not been to and it was a blast.  Truly authentic food the neighborhood a little shady to get to but wow....a lot of pics with visits from famous people on the wall at the restaurant.

I asked the server if the salsa was spicy.  He assured me it was not. I don't mind spicy but Marilyn does NOT DO spicy.  Well good thing I tried it first.  My nose was runnig from it being
So spicy.  It was good though.

They had these DRINKS...and let me tell you people were sucking them down.
All kinds of margaritas.

Avocados....

This was a flaming appetizer....mozzarella...Mexican sausage...and the Bacardi makes it flame.
I had checked taco, rice and enchilada with guacamole.

We shared this for dessert while listening to Mariachi players.  It was great.

Day 2 and 3

So yesterday we had an interesting start to the day, then fun of course and then lots of laughter.  Went to bed at 2 am again both nights.

Yesterday we were moving rather slow I already shared the shower dilemma.  We headed out and first stop was to see where they lived and the new house they are building.

But we passed this Salvation Army thrift store and pulled in to see what they had.....

They were rather expensive but we left with this cute $.79 cent jar

Where I purchased a cute little jar for $.79 cents......

After our big purchase we headed to see where they live now and where they are building their new house.

It's a very nice gated community.

Then off to lunch at Rudy's Barbecue....

We pulled in and went to order our food.  They smoke all their barbecue right on site.  So off we go to the counter where we are welcomed with a sample of their famous creamed corn.  Very yummy.

Everything can be tasted.  I chose the chopped barbecue which is turkey, pork and brisket in barbecue sauce.  We also got coleslaw and they give you thick white bread.  They pile everything into a blue handled crate no plates...you get pieces of butcher paper to eat off of....

While in line we met family who was from Pennsylvania they were traveling with

FLAT STANLEY

I had the chopped barbecue on the bread with some cole slaw and barbecue sauce.

You then go to the family seated tables where there are paper towels available to grab as needed.

We then had a visit from Marilyn's daughter Sheryl and granddaughter Adisson.  When it was time to say goodbye Adisson started to cry...she wanted her "Granny".  I told her that she has "Granny" all the time and I really appreciated that she was sharing her with me and I would give her back on Monday. After a few more tears, and a few sniffles, and a bribe to get her a "Frozen" surprise "Granny" got a smile and hug....

After we left lunch we Marylin initiated me to

It's a good thing I am flying...there was some amazing things I would have loved but did get a few amazing things....

The boxes are unfinished for some wool/cross stitch projects (Pat?). The green packages are small frames with glass that I am going to use to make a couple of necklaces and the rubber stamps are to add to my collection.  I also got some crochet yarn to make some pinball pin cushions.

We then went to H.E.B. Which is truly a huge and unbelievable grocery store.

We went to grab some things to drink and for dinner....

I found this cup....yes for me...lol

We got out of H.E.B. just in time to sit in traffic which is 90% of the time...

Once back we had lots of laughs watching Vic Dibitetto

http://youtu.be/I8SGfgdFcYA

That is one that made me cry so hard I was laughing.  I DON'T DO STUPID!

We awoke this morning and lolly gagged around until we chose to move out the door....

We went to a quilt shop that I once again had a great time...I even scored some $3.95 - a yard toweling to stitch, wool appliqué or cross stitch on.

Oh and I played $20 on the lottery in scratch offs last night I never play but thought what the heck why not.....

Well I won.....

Wahoo $100.00

After the quilt shop we had some Chinese for lunch...

We then hit Wally World and I found some treasures for my son Austin

Then H.E.B.

A new one that was hard to believe it was a grocery store"........

Here's just a smidgen of what I saw. I think I gained 20 lbs just breathing when I walked in....

Made me think of Rachel and Justin

tiramisu. Austin and Mia

Caramel apples and pears

Then sushi/Asian

Breads

And couldn't resist this picture...Mia....

This too was in H.E.B.

We then went to Deli counter

Keith  and the guys would have loved the meats and cheeses.

Allergies hAve been rough but with daily trips to

(It was 76 degrees here today so went iced....)

Great friend, shopping and food I'm pretty happy.  Just heard weather bad for Monday so departure may be tricky.  I am missing the trip to the venue that Justin and Rachel are thinking of tomorrow so I hope they take pics.  I couldn't change this trip I had already done so last year and ticket would have been lost. It was also Marilyn's birthday.

Tomorrow we are planning on chilling and stitching.

On a separate note I need a few prayers please....

My dear sweet Savannah (Alec's) sister has had a bit of a hiccup.  They are giving her steroids and goes back on Thursday and Friday for some more medical stuff)

And

Kim Miller who lives in Alabama now but worked for us for a while is fighting Hotchkins Lymphoma and could use as much in the prayer department we can give her.

I have always said I want this to be A happy place and I hope you will think happy thoughts for both.

Hugs tip tomorrow....I'm off to do some stitching.  I've got to get SOMETHING done.

Too funny thanks Cheryl

Day one....

So Marilyn arrived with a Starbucks latte for me (loved her even more) and it was just like we had seen each other for every day for the last 6 months.  I had her bed set with her birthday presents which I forgot to take a pic of but she was very excited with all her treasures.  I too was very surprised....it wasn't my birthday but she had a bag of goodies for me.

These are them all together with close ups below....

There's a few people that will be receiving the "big girl panties..."

A framed crosss stitch she made me.

This is a miniature recipe box with mini recipe cards all containing recipes with coffee....the cutest thing.

This was packaged in a cd case but is a pattern with thread and fabric ....awesome.

After having present opening for both we headed out..... We went to parking lot and here's Marilyn's new wheels.....from a very old Toyota mini van now sporting the SUV...

First stop was a quilt shop ....shocking I know but I left without purchasing a thing. It was called ....

Then off to cross stitch shop...they had a HUGE array of buttons and 70% of a large selection of quite a few patterns.  I also scored some silk over dyed thread to try that "Sister Mary Carol" (lol) recommended.

Next stop lunch authentic tex mex .....they served chips and salsa , lentil soup, and we ordered chicken quesadillas.

Before going in we tried a couple of selfies.....

After lunch next stop Starbucks then to Quilt Shop #2 where I met Cheri Leffler.

 She works at the shop.

She has another book coming out soon. I didn't escape this shop so easily.  They had quite a few clearance fabrics including some old Judie Rothermeil fabrics.

We left the shop and we were pooped..so we decided to go to the GROCERY STORE omg...it was huge.

We bought some rolls and lunch meat some water and tea to have sandwiches.

We got back to hotel after A LOT of traffic unloaded and chilled for the rest of the night.  We had some face time with Syd and watched Big Bang Theory.  Neither one of us had much sleep the night before but somehow didn't get to bed until 2:30 am.

Well the water is being turned of at noon although Marilyn just got out of the shower and it cut off hot to just cold and then off while she was in there.  So we are getting dressed and heading out to do some more adventures.

Have a great day and keep safe and warm back home.

My poor hubby fell on the ice yesterday but thankfully fell on the left arm not the right arm he had surgery. He's ok this morning but please all be careful.

Hugs...
Stacey
