So here's a funny story.........I will probably catch crap for this but I just can't help myself.

So, Keith (my husband) and Justin (my son) went on a mini vacation about a month ago. Well the family member they visited was leaving his home for a while to return to his primary home in Florida and didn't want to leave food behind.  So..............he froze A LOT of his foods that were perishable and put them in his suitcases.  However, his flight was delayed and to be honest I don't know what ever happened to the load he took home and I don't think I want to know. Yes, there's more to this story - of course.  Well, my son Justin brought home what he said was Pepperoni from his visit.  Not one but 2 full "logs" of it.  I don't know what else to call it - I will soon post a picture because - yup here comes the kicker.  Well Justin left the Pepperoni when he went back to his home in Greensboro and my husband did not want to throw it away.  Now take a moment to close your eyes and embrace the smell that comes from those so called "hillshire farms" sausages they sell in the mall every year.  Yeah.  You know what I'm talking about.  The cheese, sausage in a box that you wonder what it's made of because it sits unrefrigerated.  Ok. so now you have the virtual smell.  yup GROSS! .  Well it sat in Fridge until about 3 days ago when Keith decided he'd try to dry it out and put it out on a plate with a napkin tilting it on one side.  I said it has to hang if you want to try that.  So being supportive of what he wanted to do I thought ok, I will hang in kitchen off cabinet but if it's not done by the time Kelly comes to clean on the 30th it's out of here. (hoping the cat would steal it in the mean time) - So this was the vision

it smelled as gross as it looks.  Did NOT smell like Pepperoni, and Did NOT smell like salami.  Everytime I had to go get a plate or napkin I had the Eau de Yuck!

Well I knew if I made a big deal about getting rid of it he'd keep it to prove it would dry out and Keith if you're reading this you know that's true. So I just let it be.  Well last night I guess Keith too had enough of the Eau de Yuck and said - "this isn't working" and tossed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is when I mentally did the happy dance.

Even Piper couldn't stand it .....................

really she was just sleeping with her nose in the couch.

she gets herself in the strangest places to sleep.

Now for those that don't go on Facebook here are a few posts thought worth putting here.........

Really Cute Video about kids seeing their shadow for the first time........

Y'all know Keith will totally do this!

Then Leo - my grandcat decided to have a loveabe moment...literally he was like this and then

within less than a minute he was ...............

Now a note to those that have not been able to comment since I changed my blog.............

if you have a google account you're good to go. If not I'm working on finding out what the issue is.  If someone is not a gmail, or google user and can comment please let me know how you complete the process.

Thanks

Someone Say Strawberries???????????????

So last week I went to Publix and bought 3 packages of strawberries that were on sale.  3/$5.  Well I haven't heard the end of it from my DH (dear husband).

Day 1 :  Why so many strawberries?
Day 2:  What are you going to do with them...they're rotting......?
Day 3:  You  going to eat the strawberries?
Day 4:  You know the strawberries are rotting........

this has gone on ALL week. So tonight I made "Strawberry Crumb muffins"  Well took care of the the strawberries not rotting but now what the heck am I going to do with the muffins?  It says on recipe, which I noticed after I made says "Best eaten within 2 days" ummmmmmmmm I have 6 Extra large cupcakes and 6 small cupcakes.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think they'd freeze?

I'm sure hubby will have something witty to say about it.

Night night!

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy busy week.................

Monday had my house "DEEP" cleaned downstairs and had my windsheild replaced.  Thank goodness no precipitation for the day!  Missed Mahjong though.  I know some of you are cracking up - but I'm actually the only Jewish person there.  They don't play for money just for fun and it's 3 hours of fun.  They're mostly my stitching ladies.  I'm starting to get the hang of it but still have A LOT to learn.

Tuesday was running errands, Wednesday Dr. Appointment and breakfast with hubby at "toast" a new restaurant in Cary Waverly Place.  I had a yummy Omelette with Feta and Herbs.  Thanks Pat for recommendation.  Great service too.

Thursday had my morning stitching group which is always more of visitng then stitching - then grocery shopping for Austin - drop off food to Austin and bam- it was 5:30 pm by the time I got home.  Today was Busy Bee at my friend and teacher Sharon's home where I got a few more blocks done for my "twas the night before christmas" quilt.  Here are my blocks I've gotten done.........

(some still need stitching but they are glued down)

There are a few other blocks but my computer and phone are not communicating nicely with each other.

Below is an old wood sewing box I bought from a friend months ago that I should have taken a before picture of - Pat (the painter) refinished it for me.  Absolutely LOVE it.  Thanks again Pat.

Then today Tricia surprised me with my stitchery - her husband made the frames weeks ago and (jokingly) threatened to throw my glass away if I didn't get my stitchery done. Well, Tricia knows how being the Queen of Unfinished projects does not help me get New projects done either.  So she surprised me today with this amazing stichery she did and put in the "infamous" frame.

Thanks Trish..........LOVE IT! Mean it!

well off to bed.  Lots to do tomorrow.  I will try to post a recipe by Monday and I rented the movie
"The Theory of Everything" about Stephen Hawkins for Keith and I to watch tomorrow.  I will let you know how it was.  (My opinion)

One more quick thing....................I need some major prayers for an ex employee and friend Kim Miller who is fighting Hochkins Lymphoma.  She's not doing well.  And one more...........
poor Savannah is have some issues as well.  She's going to be fine but is going through a lot with her health related to her kidneys.  Thank you all - I appreciate it.

Happy Spring!

Men are funny creatures.....

So last night my husband, Keith and I are watching 2 Broke Girls. It's a sitcome on NBC.  The girls on the show try to make money for their cupcake business.  Well out of the blue Keith says, "You never make me cupcakes" - well anyone that knows Keith knows he "claims" he doesn't eat sweets.  But, I had a box of cakemix in the house, some green sprinkles and had to go to grocery so got him Cream Cheese Frosting...........and Voila.............he's getting St. Patrick's Day cupcakes.

I'm sure the response will be ......."I was only joking" to be continued!

Happy Birthday Party Class!

Had a fun time yesterday taking a Happy Birthday Class at Sharon Stewart's aka Liberty Rose.  There were 4 of us and it began with myself and a woman named Mary who made our 4 birthday cards..........

Sharon said she doesn't know the girl in the photo she just "collects dead people cards"
I told her she might be alive so it's just an oldie card.

It was great fun.............

Next we went to the station to make a Binder Book to hold the cards. It also has a date sheet for each month to list all the birthdays for that month.  Something I really really need. Many of you that read this know me well.......................................

The front cover........

inside

inside back cover
Then we made a bird birthday towel which I only had time to color and trace onto towel.  Now I have to get the embroidery done.

and last but not least was the wool birthday mat.  The one with the black background is Sharon's version and the one not finished completely but "Happy Birthday" set differently was a lady named Becky in the class.  We all agreed that the way she set her letters made more sense.

in Sharon's defense - I think the thought was that it could be read on either side of someone around the mat.......but here's Becky's version.........

then we received a good bag with party favors - this recipe card for Chocolate cake...

 Sharon with the Birthday Hat.......

We all tried to vacate without pics but Sharon was persistent and I almost made it to the car when she came running out of the house with hat and camera.  I just couldn't say no.  I hate taking pics.

All in all it was a fun day and I love the things we did.

Today had a nice morning surprise visit with my future Daughter in Law - Rachel who went to duck donuts on her way.  She brought our grand-dog Holly with and we had a visit while we made Hamentashen.  (It's a Jewish cookie known for Purim - which was about 2 weeks ago but I'm never on time.)  After she left I met up with some stitching friends and Adele (my other daughter from another mother) and we went to Sassy Jacks for a first time visit for them.  We all enjoyed our shopping time.  Thanks Kim for all the treasures.

You can follow her on Facebook under Sassy Jacks Stitchery or her website

Now off to get some cleaning done and then try to finish my quilt - it's a King Size for our bed.  Imagine that - I made something for us!!! LOL

Next in line this week is some Mug Rugs for raising money for Savannah's COTA fundraiser.  So check back I'll be posting as I get them done.

Hugs to all.........Enjoy this beautiful weather!!!

Allegiance is BACK!!!!! Yay!!!!

Ok, if you haven't seen it yet - there is a new show this season called Allegiance.   It's on NBC - NBC chose to cancel after 5 episodes for whatever DUMB reason - and people were not happy including me.  Well......someone took the bull by the horns and started a petition.  You will see many posts I made on Facebook.  Anyway.  They did ask for donations which I did not do and didn't have to do and I was rather skeptical about it all.  Yesterday the person that has headed this up asked us all that signed the petition to contact Netflix about taking over the series.  There were over 500 people could be more.  The best thing he asked us to do was to order these little Black balls made by Wilson from Amazon and send them to NBC in New York.  I went to Amazon Ordered the ball (if you watch the show you'll get the black ball thing- if not it's something that refers to the main character).  Within the hour NBC decided to reinstate the show and I cancelled my order but how funny that would have been to have NBC get package after package of little black balls.  Anyway WTG to advocator.  So if you get to - check out the show but you need to watch from the begining.  It's awesome.

They apparently had to put it on at 7pm because they put the show "the slap" in it's place.  Seriousley NBC????? But I'll take it at whatever time.  That's what the DVR is for.  :)

You can catch up on full episodes here or if you have on demand through your cable/satellite provider.

NBC - Allegiance - click here

Great info to share with you!

Sick of being called by telemarketers.......?  Well I received a call today from someone regarding a timeshare.  I usually don't answer called I don't know but I'm sick of the phone ringing with call after call all day of BS calls.  So....................I answered.  The woman was very nice and explained (after I threw the "I'm on the Do not call registry" at her) that if you're not on the Federal list it doesn't work.  She also explained if you are listed the solicitor will get a recording when they call.  Which she did not get.  So I realized I registered with the state not federal.  To register your land line (those that still have one) and / or your mobile phone go to the following link and register - I did both our land line and our mobile phone.

Guys are off to New Hampshire.

Keith and Justin left for New Hampshire this morning.  They are on their way to visit with Keith's brother Davis and his wie Pam who moved from warm sunny Florida to start their new life in New Hampshire.  What a year to make the change.  They have not permanently made the move but will be doing so.

From the up and down temps here - this was last Saturday:

If you look at the bottom of the above picture and folow up from v-of dark area you can see there is about an 18-20" crack in the window.  there's a faint white line- there's a reflection of the light poles from parking lot that will throw you off but try to pretend it's not there.

Then Today:  The car that you see if me looking through my windshield - it is NOT my car.
woke up this morning to the entire lower 1/2 of windshield cracked!

I  spent my day catching up on sleep (the trek to the airport awoke us at 4:45 this morning to arrive in time for the to catch their flight) then catchig up on my recorded shows.
Scandal, Blacklist, Madame Secretary.....etc........... while watchig caught up on some stitching and FB posts.  Just chilling with my 4 legged creatures including my grand-cat Leo whose here visiting.

Austin is in Charlotte at a Yugoih tornament and last I checked in with him he was doig rather well.

My Irish friend made me this adorable clover wool rug - the "thing" on top of it is an old inscense burner - the bird on top is even green :)

(Thanks Tricia!) I love it!

I did a little experimenting on burlap- I read a post on Pinterest that if you iron on freezer paper to burlap you can print on it with your printer. Voila!

and to end this post - a video of Garfield and Sparkle- the two love birds (cats) LOL!

Have a good night !

Christmas in March.......

I had such a good time Wednesday night shopping at Sassy Jacks Stitchery.  I felt like a little kid at Christmas when I left.  Kimberly was very warm in welcoming me as a newbie and even gave me some treats when I left.  She has a very nice shop in her home in Cary for stitchers.  Check out Sassy Jacks Stitcher on FB for hours of operation.  She also has a website you can purchase from http://www.sassyjacksstitchery.com/  Embroidery, punch needle and cross stitch.  There were some many threads I had to touch many.  It's hard to explain how it feels to touch the fabric or thread but if you stitch you know what I mean.  Especially the silk.  Mmmmmmmmmmm.............

I also got a piece of dyed cross stitch fabric.  Here are some pics of things I purchased the patterns to make them......

I got a few others that are not listed.

Wahoo Fall is here!!!

Well Summer went out like a Lion!  The heat, humidity and hurricanes.  GOOD RIDDENS! Have you watched any of the new Fall shows?  My favor...
